Zone Management
The Zone Management section in Skyship allows administrators to categorize and manage shipping zones based on pincode criteria. This feature enables accurate determination of shipping zones to streamline pricing and service availability for customers.
Local Zone: Both origin and destination pincodes within the same city are categorized as the Local Zone.
State Zone: Both origin and destination pincodes within the same state are categorized as the State Zone.
ROI - Rest Of India Zone: Pincodes where both origin and destination are not within the same city or state are categorized as the ROI Zone (Rest Of India).
Metro to Metro Zone: Admins can upload a list of pincodes that are interconnected. When both origin and destination pincodes match this list, it is categorized as the Metro to Metro Zone.
Special Zone: Admins can upload a list of special interconnected pincodes. When both origin and destination pincodes match this list, it is categorized as the Special Zone.
Functionality:
Pincode Management: Admins can upload, add, and manage lists of interconnected pincodes for Metro to Metro and Special Zones.
Automated Zone Determination: The system automatically categorizes shipments into appropriate zones based on predefined rules and uploaded pincode lists.
Zone-Based Pricing and Services: Enables customized pricing and service offerings based on zone categorization, ensuring accurate cost calculation and service availability for customers.
Implementation Steps:
Define Zone Criteria: Establish clear definitions for each zone type (Local, State, ROI, Metro to Metro, Special).
Upload Pincode Lists: Upload interconnected pincode lists for Metro to Metro and Special Zones as required.
Automated Zone Assignment: Utilize automated algorithms to assign shipments to appropriate zones based on defined criteria and uploaded data.
